100 THINGS

If you’re short on inspiration for things to do on the weekend, Carrie Kim’s new book will help jump start your planning. A freelance writer and designer, Kim wheels around town with a three year-old in tow, building on her love for the city that was well-established before she became a mother — so that her ideas range from the ultra hipster (a drink at the Dresden Room) to the family-friendly (a sleepover at the La Brea Tar Pits). She’s into fun food (bugs at Typhoon and a burger at the iconic Apple Pan), and pays homage to her heritage with nods to the Korean Friendship Bell and a tour around Koreatown. We love that she loves museums as much as she loves the architecture of LA’s many gorgeous churches, and includes a grunion running alongside camping out the night before the Rose Bowl Parade. Go Carrie, go! We can’t wait to see what you do next.

We’re giving a copy of the book away to a lucky subscriber that tells us their Top 10 ideas for a perfect day with the family in LA.

Write to us at familysavvy@gmail.com and we’ll award the book by June 19.
