Movies for Memorial Day Weekend

5.27.16

North by Northwest

If your family hasn’t seen Zootopia or The Jungle Book yet, a trip to the theaters en famille says summertime better than almost anything (except maybe a beach day). Or check out the first wave of summer releases, including Alice Through the Looking Glass (Johnny Depp, but without director Tim Burton), Angry Birds and X-Men: Apocalypse. If those don’t wow you, counter-program with one of the terrific classics playing around town this weekend.

StreetFoodCinema kicks off the summer with outdoor screenings (with music and food trucks) of HookPurple Rain and Space JamCinespia has showings of Singing the the Rain and E.T. The Extra Terrestrial. And best of all, there are four classic Hitchcock movies playing at the Aero this weeekend, including our two favorites, North by Northwest and Rear Window.
