Peace Out, First Family

1.20.17

We mark the historic moment of our nation’s transfer of power with an appreciation for a First Family that made us laugh and celebrated culture – while at the same time reminding us of the power of our democracy with inspiration and grace. We particularly love that the Obamas valued the arts – and that kids who got to grown up under this presidency are sharing this photo on Facebook today.  Check out this appreciation from Wesley Morris: “Obama Understood the Power of Art. And He Wanted You to Get It, Too.”

Michelle and Barack become citizens again today, moving down the street in D.C. so that Sasha can finish up high school. Malia is off to Harvard in the fall, after an intriguing gap year that included a teen travel adventure in Boliva and this winter a Weinstein Co internship in NYC. Thanks, and good luck, to a first-rate First Family.

And, thanks to our illustrator Laura Cornell, for this sweet illustration drawn back when the Obamas got their first dog, Bo!
