Two great shows at LACMA this month - Picasso and Rivera: Conversations Across Time is not to be missed (open through early May), and you can get to know a new artist by spending some time at John McLaughlin Paintings: Total Abstraction. We loved the simplicity of the show, and that a devoted furniture maker made these chairs to match the paintings

Adventure: Camellias at Descanso Gardens

We like to visit The Descanso Gardens in early spring when it's not too hot and when the Camellia Forests are in bloom. The recent rain may have wreaked havoc on some of the flowers but there's no denying that this gem of a small property is special and wandering in the vast trees of flowers is fun for young and old.
