Hollywood’s legendary El Capitan Theatre kicks off the “Countdown to ‘Moana’” on Oct. 6, celebrating the films of renowned Walt Disney Animation Studios directors Ron Clements and John Musker. The event features screenings of Clements and Musker’s most revered films, welcoming special guests who will offer unique, behind-the-scenes insights into the making of these beloved movies. “Every film we’ve created represents an exciting time in our careers—and in our lives,” says Musker. “Characters like Ariel from ‘The Little Mermaid,’ Genie from ‘Aladdin’ and now Moana emerge from our imaginations to become a part of us, a member of our families.”

The “Countdown to ‘Moana’” event features six iconic films; on select nights, the 7 p.m. shows will feature special presentations by filmmakers, artists or voice talent that will include discussions, Q&A and more surprises.

  • Oct. 6-7, 2016         “The Little Mermaid”

Special presentation on Oct. 6 at 7 p.m. with Christopher Daniel
Barnes, who provided the voice of Prince Eric

  • Oct. 8-9, 2016         “The Princess and the Frog”

Special presentation on Oct. 8 at 7 p.m. with directors Ron
Clements & John Musker, plus Michael-Leon Wooley, who
provided the voice of Louis

  • Oct. 10, 2016           “Treasure Planet”

Special presentation on Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. with directors Ron
Clements & John Musker

  • Oct. 11-12, 2016     “The Great Mouse Detective”

Special presentation on Oct. 11 at 7 p.m.

  • Oct. 13-14, 2016     “Hercules”

Special presentation on Oct. 13 at 7 p.m. with directors Ron
Clements & John Musker, plus Susan Egan, who was the voice
of Meg in the movie

  • Oct. 15-16, 2016     “Aladdin”

Special presentation on Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. with directors Ron
Clements & John Musker, plus Brad Kane, who provided the
singing voice for Aladdin in the movie
