As part of their kiddie matinees, The New Beverly Cinema is showing Gulliver’s Travels on Saturday, January 21 and Sunday, January 22. Max and Dave Fleischer’s beloved adaptation uses stunning animation to bring Jonathan Swift’s immortal fantasy to life! Following a shipwreck, Gulliver washes ashore in a land of tiny people where he must help broker peace between the diminutive kingdom and its little rival to save a romance between the Prince & Princess of the opposing sides. After years creating some of the greatest American cartoon shorts, this was the Fleischer’s entry into feature animation in response to Disney’s enormously successful hit Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
