June is time to make sure you’ve secured at least one set of tickets to the Hollywood Bowl this summer. It looks like a great line-up, and remember the shows go all the way through September (helping you extend summer into the school year).
Be sure to look here for all shows — the weeks are typically divided up into Classical, Jazz, Weekend Spectacular, and World music. There are classics (Sing-Along Sound of Music on June 24), Bowl Faves (Diana Krall on Aug 11-13, Pink Martini on Aug 27), shows to get you started on why the Bowl is fun (Harry Potter on July 6-8, Raiders of the Lost Ark on Aug 4-5) and … Mamma Mia (July 28-30). Gershwin looks fun on Aug 17, as does Herbie Hancock on Aug 23, and don’t forget the Fireworks Spectaculars – Fourth of July weekend with Pentatonic, and Tchaikovsky (August 18-19), and The Muppets Take the Bowl (Sept 8-10).
