Tea Lovers Festival

This family-oriented celebration kicks off with a tea-tasting reception, featuring teas from around the world by Bird Pick Tea & Herb (China and Japan),Glenburn Tea Direct (India), Hankook Tea (Korea) and Health-Ade Kombucha (USA), as attendees explore the Fowler Museum’s wonderful exhibitions of cultural history. Children paint with tea and play a tea etiquette game with Sarita Gomez at the Kids-Love-Tea-Too crafting table. The festivities will continue at the Fowler’s Lenart Auditorium with a visual and musical treat for the entire family. The performance showcase features excerpts from Alice and the Wonderful Tea Party musical by the Santa Monica Playhouse, a Korean Tea Ceremony by Hankook Tea, Japanese classical songs by Yukari Black and Sanae Ando, traditional Japanese dance by Yoriko Takami, traditional Chinese music by Erhu musician Jack He, and Indian dance by the Arpana Dance Company.
