Mariachi Tesoro de San Fernando showcases the talents of advanced members of the Mariachi Master Apprentice Program (MMAP), the award-winning and nationally recognized arts-in-education program founded in 2000 in the city of San Fernando. Working alongside established musicians, the young members of this program hone their musical skills while developing self-confidence and preserving traditional arts. In 2012, Mariachi Tesoro de San Fernando performed at the White House, where they were granted the 2012 National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award by First Lady Michelle Obama.
