FAMILY FLICKS FILM SERIES
UCLA Film & Television Archive and the Hammer Museum have teamed up for a matinee screening series of new and classic family-friendly films from around the world.
This coming-of-age musical fantasy features the late David Bowie in one of his most electrifying film roles as Jareth the Goblin King, sorcerer ruler of The Underground. Accompanied by a motley crew of Jim Henson’s creatures, 15-year-old Sarah Williams journeys through a maze of magical lands to rescue her baby brother Toby from Jareth’s dark clutches. Original Bowie songs, stellar hair, and out-of-this-world costume changes make this cult classic the perfect way to pay tribute to the Starman’s genius.
Recommended for ages 8+. All ages are welcome. Feel free to take a break with infants and toddlers in the theater lobby.
