On Sunday, October 16, you can drop by the Skirball Center anytime between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. for Lego Day! Inspired by the tradition of building temporary dwellings during the Jewish festival of Sukkot and the values of shelter and community associated with this holiday, help construct a mini-neighborhood in the courtyard behind the main lobby.

With support from instructors at Play-Well TEKnologies, build your own dwelling with LEGO pieces—maybe even a sukkah (the Hebrew word for “hut” or “booth”) behind your LEGO house. Get design ideas from the nearby sukkah created by designer Shannon Scrofano.

Also, bring in new or gently used household items for families at Upward Bound House, which provides temporary housing and supportive services for homeless families in Los Angeles. Don’t forget to check out this list of desired donations!
