With humor, complexity, and conviction, the Matt Yeakley Quartet showcases soulful and funky modern jazz.
A native of Southern California, Matthew Yeakley grew up immersed in the sounds of banjos, mandolins, fiddles, and guitars played by his music-loving family and their friends. A guitarist since his teen years, Yeakley graduated with honors from the Musicians Institute in Hollywood and continues to work as an educator in the Los Angeles area. In addition to touring with several rock, funk, and jam bands, Yeakley has performed with a number of celebrated jazz musicians, including Ambrose Akinmusire, Joshua White, and Dayna Stephens, among others. He has also collaborated with Backstreet Boy Kevin Richardson.
