Looking for an art outing? This week’s Substack ne Looking for an art outing? This week’s Substack newsletter describes three gallery outings plus suggestions for a lunch nearby. Here are images from the Hammer’s intriguing tribute to a Lebanese born woman artist who lived here in LA for decades. Lunch at the Lulu is always fun. The other two adventures are to explore the photography of another enthusiastic Angeleno, David Lynch at Pace Gallery on La Brea. Finally, the luminous photographs by Roy De Carava at David Zwirner in Melrose Hill. pacegallery davidzwirner hammer_museum huguettecaland
New ideas for exploring are on Substack, my monthl New ideas for exploring are on Substack, my monthly roundup of art and adventures, books and screens and pods and more. We had an excellent Subscriber outing lacma to visit Eileen Cowin’s exhibit and also visited the new Geffen Galleries. I also enjoyed learning about textile artist Reiko Sudo’s practice (she made the stainless steel curtains in the new building). I loved a new short book called “Etna” and am excited about fall titles from Barbara Kingsolver and Min Jin Lee. Also, pointed to several resources to help you get up to speed on the current panic about AI. I hope you take a look!
Plenty of ideas for adventure and culture for the Plenty of ideas for adventure and culture for the upcoming months - link in bio to a free Substack post. 😎 and enjoy one more week of official summer before Labor Day.
