Invoking the spirit of Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, the Show Ponies enliven audiences with exuberant indie folk and bluegrass.
Founding members Andi Carder and Clayton Chaney—based in California by way of Texas and Arkansas, respectively—joined forces in 2011. Now a five-member ensemble, the Show Ponies have performed at a variety of venues across the West, opening for the Rascal Flatts, Easton Corbin, and Robert Earl Keen, among others. Their critically acclaimed music, recorded on two full-length albums and one EP, has found a steady place on the Americana charts.
Imbued with charm, pathos, and boldness, the Show Ponies deliver poetic songs that preserve the wildness and wonder of the West. See them on Sunday, August 30 at 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM at The Skirball.
