Levitated Mass moves to LACMA

3.6.12

Yes, the famous rock is almost to LACMA  — it arrives on Saturday, March 10 between 2:00 AM and 6:00 AM — so make a plan soon to catch it along the way.  The massive rock, which weighs 340 tons is being called a “ROCK STAR” is being transported at night to it’s new home at LACMA, where it will be featured in artist Michael Heizer’s Levitated Mass.

Here is the route map, so you can try to visit it where it stops for photographs (and many families are making this pilgrimage).  Here is an LA Observed article about the rock’s progress for the rest of this week (including street closings).

Watch this video on the start of the journey and make haste! Once the Rock reaches LACMA, it goes incognito again until late spring!

You can follow the rock’s TWITTER FEED. And upload your photos to FLICKER.
