Gallery Priorities for January

12.30.22

Two excellent shows are leaving town soon but you have a bit more time to get to LACMA’s gorgeous Park Dae Sun show, which I wrote about here – I’m thrilled that it has been extended through Feb 3, 2022. And Cindy Sherman 1977-1982 at Hauser + Wirth (through January 8).

While at the Hammer, be sure to visit its wonderfully redesigned store, with new windows that look down Wilshire towards the beach.

Other highlights around town include:

William Kentridge: In Praise of Shadows at The Broad (through April 9)

Anselm Keifer: Exodus at Gagosian at Marciano Art Foundation (through March 25, 2023)

Uta Barth: Peripheral Vision at the Getty Center (through Feb 19)

Joan Didion: What She Means at the Hammer (through Feb 19, 2023)

Amazônia, photographs by Sebastião Salgado at California Science Center (through February 20)

Fabric of a Nation: American Quilt Stories at the Skirball Cultural Center (through March 12, 2023)

And at LACMA, Another World: The Transcendentalist Painting Group 1938-1945.(through June 19, 2023)

Here is a list of free gallery days around town this month from WeLikeLA.
