The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica presents 13-year old self-taught jazz pianist phenomenon, Joey Alexander for one performance only on Saturday, October 15 at 7:30pm. Alexander will be performing in a trio with Dan Chmielinski on bass and Ulysses Owens Jr. on drums.
Joey Alexander is the youngest Grammy nominee in the jazz category. With a debut album, My Favorite Things, earning raves across the board, Alexander is well on his way to becoming one of the all-time jazz greats. On September 16, 2016, Joey Alexander will be releasing his sophomore album, Countdown, through Motéma Music. This album includes the original composition, “City Lights,” which earned him a standing ovation when he performed it at the 2016 Grammy Awards.
