The Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica presents the first event in the National Geographic Live series – I Bought a Rainforest with photojournalist Charlie Hamilton James.  The event includes a post-show Q&A with James.

Ever since his teenage job working on David Attenborough’s landmark series “Trials of Life”, wildlife documentarian Charlie Hamilton James has always felt at home in nature. He has been shooting in Peru’s Manu National Park since the 1990’s, returning on a regular basis to seek out new treasures in the most bio-diverse place on Earth. Committed to the protection of the rainforest and its inhabitants (human and nonhuman), he even bought a piece of land adjoining the park—only to discover that he had purchased an illegal cocaine factory along with it. His misadventures as an Amazonian landowner were documented in his popular BBC Television series, I Bought a Rainforest.
